I call Canada!

Reading TIME magazine, I found this ^
Off the coast of the United Arab Emirates near Dubai, is The World. It's a group of 300 man-made islands in the shape of the seven continents. It was a billion dollar project that has now been "postponed indefinitely" because of the drop in property market rates. Each island was supposed to sell for 15 million to 50 million dollars each-and are only available by invitation. Only one is occupied. By a Sheik. There is one big, lonely mansion in the middle of no where basically. Talk about being the last person on earth.
What is this about? It's a cool idea, sure. But a country shells out millions of dollars to build this ultimate display of wealth and prosperity and it turns into a huge waste of resources for self-service.
Dubai  is now facing enconomic ruin because of so much overspending for other large projects as well, such as an unfinished 18-hole golf course in the middle of the desert that will use a million gallons of water a day to run. While this is happening, schools and educational facilities in the country are suffering, according to UNICEF.
Priorities maybe?
I watched the video on the actual promotional site for The World. It plays like something from Jurassic Park. Check it out at http://www.theworld.ae/.
