One of my friend Sarah's pieces. She is going into graphic design. Doesn't it give an end-of-the-world vibe?
My Anthropology professor started talking about myths and legends and traditional stories and such.
She brought up of course the whole Mayan calendar thing that some people have found cause to worry about lately. Professor Lloyd brought up a good point. The Maya's calender puts the beginning at like 341 BC. The world did not start then. She then said: "If they didn't get the beginning right, I don't think they would be right about the end either."
I found that interesting.
And really, isn't it sad that people worry about the end? I know the world won't end on December 21, 1012, because the Bible says we won't know when Jesus comes, but really, that will be a sweet time for me and everyone else who believes. I think a big, dramatic end-of-the-world chaos thing would be pretty exciting in it's own right. But that's only because I'm confident I know where I'm going when I die. I have no cause for concern. Non-believers though...well, that's what we are still here for.
